Bečarević: A somersault in USK, and how Konaković became SDA's appendage, and now he is silent about it

(Patria) - The president of the KV Party of BiH Sarajevo, Almir Bečarević, issued a press release regarding the dismissal and appointment of the new Government of USK.

"The president of People and Justice, Elmedin Konaković, stated in one of his addresses: 'As far as I know, People and Justice does not negotiate with the Party of Democratic Action. That would be a shock on the political scene, I don't know who wants it less, them or us.'

At the same time, the president of People and Justice has been warning the public for months and continuously accusing the Party of BiH of being merely an appendage of the Party of Democratic Action and that the essence of the Party of BiH's political action is to adapt its activities to the Party of Democratic Action, meaning it is an extended arm of SDA. On December 5, 2023, we witnessed a SHOCK that Mr. Konaković did not even comment on, because now NiP is 'not' an appendage, 'not' an extended arm of SDA, and 'not' a party that will implement SDA's policies with the new Prime Minister in USK, who comes from SDA.

This is not a shock, this seems to be a logical consequence of what has always characterized Mr. Konaković, which is to accuse others and create scandals for others, while remaining silent about his own shocks and scandals and acting as he thinks is best for him personally. Now, in this somersault decision-making and coalition-building of NiP and SDA, where SDA will have its Prime Minister in USK, it is not a political turn and departure from what he stated just a few months ago for Mr. Konaković, but rather it seems to be just a logical consequence of what he advocates at both the state and federal levels, which is the sentence 'well, we have to form a government with someone,' even if it's SNSD and HDZ, and now even the once-hated SDA.

Now there are no more attachments or extended arms, but only 'ministerial positions' that he criticized the Party of BiH for at the state, federal, and cantonal levels. For the sake of power and ministerial positions, Mr. Konaković is now silent as if this change of government is happening in Latin America, not in the Una-Sana Canton.

What moral right does Mr. Konaković have to talk about any other party, especially about the Party of BiH, which dignifiedly accepted being removed from power in the Sarajevo Canton and the Una-Sana Canton? Elmedin Dino Konaković, you no longer have any moral right to lecture or preach to anyone, because after this formation of government in USK, you have shown that your only goal is chairs and positions, not the desire to create a better environment for citizens' lives.

The removal of the Party of BiH from power in the Sarajevo Canton was primarily initiated by Mr. Konaković's demands, because at that time we were accused of acting in agreement with SDA's positions, i.e., that in Sarajevo Canton we are a party acting from the opposition in favor of the opposition. The Party of BiH has not shown in any way that it was or will be an extended arm of any party, or an appendage of any party, and with this silence from Konaković, who is forming a government with SDA for ministerial positions in USK, it shows that he is clearly no longer shocked by what was shocking to him just a few months ago, and which was his justification in KS to actively work on removing SBIH from power.

The Party of BiH remains committed to the principle that any government formed must be based on programmatic goals, on clearly defined plans, and we have never deviated from this at any level of government, and this fundamentally distinguishes us from the actions of all those who form governments overnight, without considering the full destructiveness of the policies that result from such adventures, the statement reads.
