Bečarević wrote to Konaković: That former lion has now become prey

(Patria) - Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Almir Bečarević sent an open letter to the head of BiH diplomacy and leader of People and Justice Elmedin Konaković, titled "From the King of Lions, to Prey".

"I have been thinking for days whether to respond to Mr. Konaković's accusations, and the course of events has been such that it was wise not to respond at first.

Mr. Konaković said, I quote: 'We have a problem with SBiH, with this Bečarević who does PR on a daily basis instead of solving problems. It is obvious that the SBiH people did not enter this story with a pure heart...'.

Mr. Konaković knows how I solve things since 2016, when together, he as prime minister, and I from the street (then fired), we reduced the price of gas four times and by over 60%.

That year 2016, he was a young lion of SDA, who was banging his fists on the table, and I was with SBiH, not even on the map in power, and I only wanted to help him.

Now both of us are in power in the Canton, he as the first NIP member and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and I as the president of the Cantonal Board of SBiH and a minister in the KS Government.

When SBiH nominated me in 2004 for the position of director of BH-Gas, Konaković was at the end of his basketball career.

In 2016, he was the president of the KS Government and someone who was already showing a tendency to cut off those who helped him enter the political waters as if they had never existed.

We were brought together by one of those who helped him in his political career, whom he later discarded like an old rag.

Why a slightly longer introduction?

Every relationship has its genesis, and this short one from 2016 resulted in a good outcome, and then everything disappeared until this year when I became 'this Bečarević' who, instead of solving problems, has PR on a daily basis.

I would solve problems easily if Mr. Konaković stuck to everything he promised, which was that those who do not work would be replaced, those who have problems with the law would be replaced, those who steal would have to deal with him, etc.

He promised everything, and he never replaced his director even once, and his municipal organization is telling him exactly that.

The Anti-Corruption Office is full of cases for his directors and all those he wants to be his.

Mr. Konaković does not have time for problems and those who think differently, and KS is becoming everything he did not promise.

It is important not to stir things up, that directors hold onto their chairs like lollipops (licking costs 4,600 KM in income for almost all directors), that they are obedient to the president, and everyone else is to blame.

It is important to poach MPs from other parties, and to do PR that others are doing it. It is important that others do not have PR, and Konaković can constantly have PR.

It is important that the others are the problem, and he is the one making historic sessions of the Council of Ministers. When you tell the truth about that 'historic' session, he sends messages from Brussels that he will remove Bečarević first.

Now Konaković is fighting so that his own people don't remove him. Those young lions are saying exactly what he used to say: 'We have people who do nothing, people who have problems with the law, people who need to be changed...'.

Now Mr. Konaković is in a dilemma, to cut off and remove or to start changing his own from within. As someone looking from the outside, I think he is too late because you can fool some people for a while, but not everyone all the time.

We/I entered the government in KS with a pure heart and we want changes for the better, but wherever a change could and should have been made, we were blocked, mostly by Mr. Konaković.

NIP has the most directors, and if they are not for change, then you are blocked. Now people from within NIP want changes, and now we have a paradoxical situation.

Those people who want changes should be removed for the sake of peace in the relationships Mr. Konaković is building, now SBiH should be removed because 'independent' MPs are the solution to problems, now we shouldn't stir things up because it's better to do nothing - municipal elections are coming, etc.

This is the situation in KS, and the entire canton is blocked because there is no desire for real change, and that former lion has now become prey because changes are needed, and people are not blind.

I give public support to those who want changes so that the pensioner goes into retirement, so that the director who does not work well goes to the bench, so that the city becomes a construction site, not a den of garbage and unmanaged parts of the city, so that pedestrian crossings are painted, not like varnished nails, so that the truth is one, not colorful, so that a pure heart is shown, not that MPs are plucked, so that Mr. Konaković comes out and presents the work of the Anti-Corruption Office because he is a fighter against corruption, etc.

And yes, in the end, Mr. Konaković, I would work and solve problems, but you are no longer the same because you have become prey, and the king of lions is now somewhere else.

The problem is not Bečarević, but the promises you haven't fulfilled, and you have been in power for years, while SBiH has only been in power for four months. Others will talk about the fight for the state and concessions to the enemies of the state."
