Bečarević on arrest at Rad: They thought they were untouchable!

(Patria) - Almir Bečarević, former Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton, commented for Patria on today's arrest of seven people at the Cantonal Public Utility Company Rad.

"For more than a year, I have been warning that almost all directors of cantonal companies are either under investigation or suspected of various criminal offenses. While I was minister, I also filed criminal charges against both RAD and other companies.

RAD was in focus due to public procurement, appointments, oil, etc. Companies now, almost all of them, operate at a loss, and the lack of competence and knowledge have led to today's events. They thought they were untouchable. I hope this is just the beginning of sorting out the situation in utility companies," says Bečarević.

We remind you that, by order of the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton (KS), members of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS arrested seven people early this morning who are suspected of illegalities in the utility company Rad from 2021 to today.

Among those arrested is, as Patria wrote this morning, the director of KJKP Rad, Nijaz Salamović, who was appointed to this position as a NiP party official.

The former director of this company, Vera Arnautović, as well as former and current members of the Supervisory Board, were also arrested.
