(Patria) - Almir Bečarević, president of the Cantonal Board of SBiH Sarajevo Canton and former minister in the KS Government, has analyzed how much money from the KS Budget has been distributed to public companies and has noticed a year-on-year growth trend. In five years, 394,553,027 KM has been given to public companies.
2024 - 104,425,730 KM
2023 - 80,170,837 KM
2022 - 75,416,630 KM
2021 - 69,342,430 KM
2020 - 65,177,400 KM
"These subsidies are the result of the policies pursued in Sarajevo Canton. It would be useful to ask the citizens of Sarajevo Canton what they have received from these approximately 400 million KM given from the KS budget to public/utility companies. What have citizens received from these companies for which they also pay for their services. On the other hand, the policies pursued by KS have decided to halve, not increase, the allocations for subsidizing property purchases for young people, reducing it from the usual 10,000 KM to 4,800 KM.
On one hand, we have investments of hundreds of millions of KM in companies that are in the status of party armies and party ATMs, and on the other hand, we have young people whom the current policies want to see leave, because they are an unnecessary expense in the budget.
To be even more precise, in the KS budget for subsidies to public companies, 46,152,400 KM was allocated in
2019, which means that subsidies have increased by 100% compared to 2024.
The term subsidy is used for both public companies and for young people buying property, and it means assistance. So, our public companies are in a state of social welfare and require ever-increasing allocations from the budget over the years, while young people are in a state of hyper-privileged rich people, as a young representative said, because the government has concluded that they are arrogant and do not need any form of assistance, and therefore has cut their subsidies by 50%.
When we look at this data, only one thing is clear: young people are an unnecessary expense, and public companies are our future, and therefore the money of taxpayers should continue to be invested in public companies, while young people are left with buses to go abroad, because they are not needed for intergenerational solidarity and for what it means that the world rests on the young," stated Bečarević.
He expressed full support for young people in realizing their rights, because we see them as an investment in the future of this country, not as an unnecessary expense.
"There is money in the budget, so give it to the youth! Public companies are the expense, which will financially destroy this canton and any development in it," concluded the former minister.
