Baždarević: Argentina disappointed me, and Brazil is under pressure

The Football World Cup in Brazil has found its semi-finalists, the teams of Argentina, Brazil, Netherlands, and Argentina, writes the Patria News Agency. In the semi-final matches, Brazil will face Germany and Netherlands will face Argentina.

Mehmed Baždarević, a Bosnian football expert, is satisfied with the games shown from Brazil so far, but admits that some selections have surprised him.

- This World Cup is marked by Latin American representatives, and there are many reasons for that: the climate, their audience, and the environment that suits them. These are the national teams that arrived in Brazil more rested and fresher. But I still firmly believe that European teams will advance, as they have the best players, who have experience in these competitions, as proven by Germany and the Netherlands – says Baždarević.

He adds that Belgium fascinated him and that they were an underdog favorite.

- Besides Germany and the Netherlands, Belgium was so powerful on the field that I enjoyed watching them – says Baždarević.

On the other hand, Baždarević warns, one must not forget Brazil, who are playing at home.

 - That is their advantage, but I don't think they have shown what they can do yet. They are a team that depends on two players, but I think they have much more to show. However, they are under some pressure, so we'll see – added Baždarević.

The biggest disappointment for the popular Meša is the selection of Argentina.

- Argentina is still a big mystery to me, and I think they don't have good collective play, so I really don't see them as champions, even though they have two phenomenal players who are capable of creating something out of nothing. I remain very reserved about Argentina – added Baždarević, emphasizing that he supports European teams.
