Baščaršija Square takes on a new look, paving work in full swing

Renovation works on Baščaršija Square are in full swing, and the good weather without precipitation has served the workers who are diligently laying the paving stones, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As announced by the Municipality of Stari Grad, all works on the water supply network installed on Baščaršija Square have been completed, while the connection of two shafts to the sewage line remains.

- These are two shafts along the sidewalk on Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street, and it remains to install two on the right side of the Sebilj - explained Aida Veladžić, expert advisor for investment affairs in the Service for Investments, Planning and Analysis.

According to her, 75-80% of the total square area has been concreted so far, most of the left side is paved, and the right side of the square is paved up to Kazandžiluk Street.

So far, 35-40% of the total square area has been paved, said Veladžić, adding that the works are proceeding according to the set schedule.

Upon completion of the paving, two stone benches will be placed on Baščaršija Square, bearing engraved coats of arms of the Municipalities of Osmangazi and Stari Grad, which financed the works, as well as the implementer and contractor. The benches will be located above the Sebilj, on the left and right sides, along Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street.
