An elderly man, whose identity has not yet been established, was seriously injured in an accident that occurred today, shortly after 1 PM, on the Banja Luka bypass, not far from the motel “Nana”, reports the Patria News Agency.
According to witness statements, the injured party was a pedestrian who stepped in front of a Peugeot 307 station wagon, driven by a woman.
-We don't know if he was trying to cross the road, but the fact is that the pedestrian caused the accident and stepped in front of the car that was moving from the direction of the city towards the Prijedor interchange, employees of nearby establishments told Press.
They claim it was an elderly man who sustained serious leg injuries.
-He had an open fracture on his left leg, and his right leg was also injured. Besides that, he was communicative until the arrival of the Emergency Medical Services, eyewitnesses of the crash said.
Eyewitnesses say the woman was not driving fast, as she had passed a stationary radar shortly before the accident.
