Banja Luka: Schmidt visited state institutions from which RS wants to withdraw

High Representative Christian Schmidt today visited three key state institutions located in Banja Luka – the Agency for Identification Documents, Data Records and Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA), the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH (UIO), and the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH, to give them his support and express his appreciation for the significant work these institutions perform for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The institutions I visited today provide much-needed services to all citizens of this country. Attempts to undermine these state institutions not only represent a serious challenge from a legal and political standpoint but would also result in enormous practical problems for citizens. Without these institutions, citizens would be denied personal and travel documents, which would practically prevent them from travelling and engaging with the rest of the world. Financial flows with all levels of government would be interrupted, and basic services to citizens would be jeopardized. It is particularly concerning that, during this global pandemic, citizens would be denied a reliable supply of high-quality medicines,” said the High Representative.

The High Representative took this opportunity to express his gratitude for the enormous contribution that these three agencies, along with all other state-level institutions, make to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
