Bandić: 'Galić Case' Has Completely Laid Bare All the Misery and Bitterness of the Political System We Live In!

Written by: Muamer Bandić

Nothing illustrates more vividly the full extent of ignorance, value confusion, and subservience of the Troika before the clientelist and corrupt schemes of the HDZ and SNSD than the case of the fugitive deputy director of SIPA, Zoran Galić.

Zoran Galić has been on the run for almost a month now, and a red notice has only just been issued for him. At the same time, the mandate of SIPA Director Darko Ćulum has also expired, so this state security agency is currently practically decapitated.

Over the past year, I have written and warned several times about the ethnic imbalance in leadership positions at the state level to the detriment of the Bosniak people, and the complete surrender of the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the hands of Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik. The current events in and around SIPA show that this state agency has not only been handed over to the HDZ and SNSD, but has literally been thrown into the hands of corrupt criminals.

At the moment he was appointed to this new position in February 2023, former Director of the Border Police of BiH Zoran Galić was already under investigation for rigging a competition in the Border Police of BiH. That same man, whom Konaković, Forto, Helez and Hurtić appointed last year as deputy director of SIPA, would say about himself a year earlier that he is "the most investigated person in BiH," which was probably the key reference for our smartest, most honest and bravest ministers to raise their hands for him at the very beginning of their mandate.

Lest you think that appointment was accidental, do not forget that at the beginning of the mandate, the most important positions are cleared and the most loyal people from party machines are appointed, and Zoran Galić was precisely that eternal and irreplaceable link in the security system of BiH and a person trusted by the HDZ top brass. That is why he was appointed, with the unquestioning support of the Troika.

Today, in this circus of a state, Zoran Galić, a fugitive from BiH justice and a wanted person, is seeking to be relieved of his duties, at his own request due to retirement, on the proposal of the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, who has made every effort to secure all state service benefits for her party colleague Galić, including a generous severance package in the amount of six salaries, which amounts to approximately 20,000-25,000 KM.

And that proposal would have passed by our smartest and most honest ministers, who meddle in everything like Vegeta seasoning except their own work, had the Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić, not stopped that decision due to procedural reasons at the last July, 57th session of the Council of Ministers of BiH and returned the Galić case to the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for consideration.

How much Chairwoman Krišto has strived to take care of her party colleague is also shown by the fact that in the meantime, three more telephone sessions of the Council of Ministers of BiH were held, and at each one the Galić case was considered. He allegedly opened a sick leave, thereby legally protecting himself from dismissal, which our smartest and most honest ministers from the Troika are now insisting on.

I hope someone will explain to them that according to current laws, it is not possible to dismiss an employee while on sick leave, because such a move would open up legal space for this fugitive from BiH justice to sue the state and also collect substantial damages. The dismissal, pushed by Galić's party colleague, would send this fugitive criminal into retirement and adorn him with a solid severance package.

If they haven't until now, I hope that at least now, these our smartest, most honest and bravest Troika members will finally understand what a devilish dance they have gotten into and what criminal structures, i.e., partners, they are sitting at the table with, and that in fact all the time they are raising their hands for their personal benefit, and not for the benefit of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, turning this country into a paradise for criminals and a hell for all honest people.

The Galić case has completely laid bare all the misery and bitterness of the political system we live in, and it is not at all surprising that people are fleeing from here, and this kind of Troika fight against corruption has greatly contributed to that, by creating a new chain of corruption!
