Bandić returns to Remetinec, USKOK expands investigation

Milan Bandić is returning to Remetinec, the County Court has decided, at the request of USKOK, which is expanding the investigation against the mayor of Zagreb. According to USKOK's claims, Bandić asked witnesses to testify falsely, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

At the same time, at USKOK's request, the state froze 15 million kuna, deposited as bail when Bandić was first arrested at the end of last year.

USKOK prosecutor Ksenija Krizman said after the hearing that the investigating judge accepted the proposal and ordered Bandić into custody due to the risk that he might influence witnesses if released, and also repeat the offense. The judge also made a decision on collecting the bail of 15 million kuna, which, if this verdict becomes final, will be paid into the state treasury.
