Bandić: We have nothing to do with people whose personal interests are more important than state interests

(Patria) - The Three parties do not want, nor do they need a political partner who has clear political goals and a partner who wants to realize those goals exclusively in accordance with constitutions, laws and other regulations. They do not need a partner who, by consistently applying regulations, works to strengthen the constitutional and legal order, strengthen the rule of law, and who, through this path, wants to achieve the fundamental ideal of a modern state - equality before the law.

This was stated by the Party of BiH MP in the KS Assembly and member of the Main Board of that party, Muamer Bandić.

"They do not need a partner who is capable of strengthening the system's institutions, making them efficient and functional, nor a partner who has the capacity to build a modern, civic state in which all individuals enjoy the same political rights as citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They also do not need a partner who advocates for building a system without privileges and without divisions between the ruling and opposition parties," Bandić states.

He adds that "The Three need suitable individuals who will raise their hands to everything they propose, regardless of whether those proposals are illegal or unconstitutional. They need partners whom they can buy with favors, tenders, public office, and employment of their extended and immediate family."

"You can find the best examples of such relationships at higher levels of government, which is a modern, Bosnian version of public-private partnership that these purveyors of fog are introducing as normality in political life. In doing so, they trade everything and with everyone, even the state, if they can personally gain something from it. When their personal interests are concerned, it is not a problem to turn a blind eye or forget that there is a Constitution, law, or regulation that says it cannot be done that way," Bandić points out.

According to him, for this reason, the principled stance of the Party of BiH in the KS Assembly that they MUST act in accordance with the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly is unacceptable to them.

"This is the fundamental principle of our policy by which we define our relationship towards the state, the legal order, and even our relationship towards coalition partners. That is why we could not vote for the Work Program because it was proposed contrary to Article 60 of the Rules of Procedure of the KS Assembly. Our position is that, if we want the rule of law, the system of political power must be based on respect for the Constitution, laws, and other regulations," Bandić states.

He also says: "The Three parties are also problematizing the signing of the Request for assessment of the constitutionality of the Law on Higher Education, which was signed by MP of SBiH Jasmin Šaljić together with MPs from SDA and DF. We believe that all power is subject to mistakes and abuses and must be limited. Likewise, the legislative power must be limited by the Constitution. For us, no law or any other regulation, decree, or article that has not been passed in accordance with the prescribed procedures is acceptable."

"We have no problem with the Constitutional Court assessing the validity of the aforementioned or any other law. If the law is constitutional, there is no reason for concern, and if it is not, or if the procedure was not carried out properly, we do not need such a law! So, it is completely unclear to me why there is so much fear of a completely normal parliamentary request?" Bandić points out.

According to him, it is clear to everyone that the real reason for the coalition's breakdown is the Party of BiH's refusal to suspend the Constitution of the FBiH during the formation of the FBiH Government, which for them represented a brutal and undemocratic destruction of the constitutional and legal order.

Likewise, as he states, the Party of BiH in Sarajevo Canton does not agree to the partial application of laws and regulations because we believe that regulations are not a smorgasbord, so we apply those that suit us and ignore those that do not suit us.

"We remain committed to basing our political activities on adherence to the laws of our country, not on individuals who, through political power, achieve personal interests, running the country like a market stall. The rule of law starts from the assembly benches and state administration. It is illusory to expect the citizens of Sarajevo to respect the laws if the Government and the KS Assembly do not respect them, because the rule of law begins with the state, not with the citizens. A state that does not respect laws is needed by no one, and The Three are trying hard to make ours like that. We have nothing to do with such people. No pasaran!" Bandić concluded.
