Bandić without comment on stripping of honorary citizen title!

Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić does not want to comment on the initiative to strip him of the title of honorary citizen of Sarajevo, the BH news agency Patria (NAP) was told by Bandić's office.

Deputy Mayor Aljoša Čampara stated today that this initiative is on the agenda of tomorrow's City Council. The initiative to strip Bandić of the title was launched due to his statement that BiH will soon be composed of three entities. This caused outrage among the current city administration, which awarded him the recognition. However, Bandić's spokesperson Josip Krajina told NAP that the Zagreb mayor does not wish to publicly comment on the initiative.

- It is the mayor's decision. His stance regarding the statement that it is necessary to look at the entire interview to get the right impression is known from before - Krajina told us.

Bandić received the recognition and title this year in February, and it was supposed to be awarded to him in April this year. He was a frequent guest of city authorities from Sarajevo, as well as Mostar and other cities. Bandić was born in the vicinity of Grude and gained great political popularity in Croatia, where he was also a presidential candidate after leaving the Social Democratic Party of Croatia. Interestingly, Bandić had expressed his views on the third entity before, but this was not an obstacle to the recognition being awarded just a few weeks ago.
