Bandić: If Kapidžić is a candidate for the Mayor of Sarajevo, SBiH will support him

(Patria) - Although municipal councils have not yet been formed and the results of the Local Elections have not been finalized, some combinations regarding the number of city councilors in the Sarajevo City Council already exist.

The difference in the number of councilors between the two blocs will be one or two councilors. For now, the only known candidate for the Mayor of Sarajevo is Faruk Kapidžić from SDA.

He pointed out that there is an agreement within the SBiH, DF, and SDA parties that these parties will offer a candidate for the Mayor of Sarajevo.

Guesting on BHT's Morning Program, SBiH representative in the KS Assembly and candidate for the Mayor of Novi Grad, Muamer Bandić, whose victory was missed by a few hundred votes, confirmed that SBiH would give its support if the candidate is precisely Kapidžić.

"If Mr. Kapidžić is a candidate for mayor, we will support him," said Bandić.

The City Council of the City of Sarajevo consists of 28 councilors. Each municipal council of the municipalities that make up the City of Sarajevo elects seven councilors to the City Council. Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs will individually be guaranteed a minimum of 20 percent of the seats in the City Council, and the group of others at least two seats.

However, the procedure for electing the mayor itself can be expected around the end of February or the beginning of March, once all the necessary procedures are completed.

People and Justice stated that they will also offer a candidate and that this was an agreement of the 'trojka' before the Local Elections. Unofficially, this will be Samir Avdić, the current Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo.
