Bakir's Manipulations and Playing Games with Veterans

Were you a driving force of the resistance and did you participate in organizing preparations for the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina against aggression?

To this very simple and concrete question, Bakir Izetbegović, depending on his current political needs and his attempts to sell to Bosniaks that he was there "when it was hardest," gives different answers, reports the Patria agency. 

On the official website of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he currently chairs, his biography skillfully and extremely calculatedly avoids mentioning that specific period. Namely, from 1991 to 2003, he held the position of director of the Institute for the Development of Sarajevo Canton. And that's it! No mention of resistance, the Army of RBiH... the front lines... not a word.

However, in a "picture book" printed on 120 pages, distributed at yesterday's poorly attended SDA Convention, the son took care, along with dozens of his photos in the style of "I love only myself and only myself," to state that he participated in organizing preparations for the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina against aggression.

Just two years ago, for the record, at his own request, he was removed from the list of initiators of the resistance of the "Patriotic League of BiH."

This is yet another piece of evidence of how much Izetbegović Jr. is prone to politicking and manipulation, just to stay in power, and that the veterans he so often mentions lately are not, as the people say, even on his radar. Bakir has never explained why he constantly changes his mind, periodically feels ashamed of parts of his life during the aggression against BiH, and why it is politically inconvenient for him to mention that period at all (of course, depending on the need to gain something).

Logically, when he needs to declare himself an initiator of the resistance, he is full of praise for veterans, disabled war veterans, and families of martyrs. When he assesses that it is not good to appear in the company of initiators of the resistance and first-time fighters, then he was just the director of the Institute. (We will soon publish a story about his leading role regarding the Institute, regulatory plans, and deals).

Frankly, for him, whose role and (in)activity during the war period is clear even to the birds on the branches, there is no place on the list where the names of the best sons of this country and true Bosnian warriors are found.

However, the fact that this is mere demagoguery and selective memory is also indicated by the fact that during the election campaign (2010), Izetbegović boasted extensively, claiming to have been the right-hand man of the late Alija Izetbegović and that he "learned" from him, thus trying to gather Bosniak votes.

By publishing a "picture book" with the title, which is tragically comic, "Mandate of Responsible, Consistent, and Successful Policy" (apart from the credit debt to the Turks that the citizens of this country must repay, it is hard for anyone to remember anything successful he has done), he remembered again that he was a first-time fighter.  

Citizens of BiH clearly remember when Bakir Izetbegović, during the 2010 election campaign, on the show "60 Minutes" on Federal Television, boasted about his wartime role, to which Željko Komšić, a member of the Presidency of BiH and a recipient of the "Golden Lily," sharply responded. It should be mentioned that Komšić has never hidden this in his biography on the official website of the Presidency of BiH.

As people forget quickly, and the elections are approaching, it is not superfluous to recall this Komšić-Izetbegović dialogue, as well as Bakir's constant playing games with hungry veterans, disabled war veterans, and families of martyrs who live on the brink of poverty and whom he uses as needed to maintain his position as a member of the Presidency of BiH, but also to achieve his long-held desire - to take over the leadership of the SDA, in which, we remind him, there are numerous initiators of the resistance, true BiH heroes, and bearers of the highest wartime honors whose memories of Bakir's wartime and post-war "exploits" do not fade and never will.
