Bakir boasts that SDA returned the name: In RS 'language of the Bosniak people', in FBiH Bosnian!

The Republican Pedagogical Institute of RS decided to change the name "Bosnian language" to "language of the Bosniak people" starting this school year, which after 12 years of teaching Bosnian is just one of many provocations of Bosniaks by the authorities of Republika Srpska, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Thus, from September 1st, with the new school year, the application of the new name began in 20 schools in RS, and Bosniak children do not have the right to a national group of subjects.

Edin Ikanović, a member of the Coalition March 1st, told the Patria agency that this is not only a problem for returnees in RS, but for the whole of BiH. He assesses that the most responsible for this situation in education in RS is the line minister Goran Mutabdžija, "who does everything under the directive of his boss Milorad Dodik".

- He spent four years in office watching the discrimination against returnee children, and did nothing, not taking seriously the problem of parents and children from Konjević-Polje and Vrabanjci - Ikanović points out.

He says he is glad that the parents of children from Konjević-Polje, outside the RS education system, have found a solution for their children (classes are conducted according to the FBiH curriculum in a makeshift house-school in Nova Kasaba, op.a.), and expresses hope that the parents of children from Vrabanjci will follow their example, as well as the parents of children in other places where obvious discrimination against Bosniaks is occurring.

- Education without discrimination must be a priority, as it holds the hope for the survival of returnee communities and the survival of the new generation in the RS entity - Ikanović states.

In the regional school in Vrbanjci, 53 percent of the children are Bosniaks, meaning 149 out of 269 students are of Bosniak nationality.

Academician Muhamed Filipović told the Patria agency that "we have no reason to deviate from the traditional name of our language because we have been inheriting the language for a thousand years".

Commenting on the situation in Republika Srpska, Filipović emphasized that "they do what they want, and whoever gave them RS also gave them the right to pass laws and make decisions on how languages will be called there."

- It is no longer a matter of what they will call our language, but whether the rights of the people living there will be respected. We are the only ones competent to say what our language is called, and we say it is Bosnian. The focus is not on the name of the language, but on human rights - Filipović said.

He states that the notorious violation of human rights is in effect.

- Those who violate human rights should be sued, there is the European Court of Human Rights. Our country should have sued RS. RS should have been tried where it is decided whether it is acting in accordance with European principles and standards in accordance with the European Conventions that have been adopted and they are above any local law - said Filipović.

It is even stranger that in a situation where Bosniaks in RS are marginalized to the extent that the name of their language is changed and their basic human rights are violated, the deputy president of SDA, Bakir Izetbegović, and candidate for the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, repeatedly claims at election rallies that they have returned the name of the language. At the same time, Izetbegović, who presents himself as the "sole and exclusive protector" of the rights of Bosniaks, apparently does not care at all about the children of returnees who are paying a high price for political deals in RS. It is interesting that Izetbegović himself held a rally yesterday in Bratunac and called on those present to vote for those "who fight for the citizens of Podrinje", without mentioning the burning issue of returnees in RS and the violation of their basic human rights in a single word.
