Bajrović: They accuse me of saying Azra Zornić is a hero

(Patria) - President of the American-European Initiative Reuf Bajrović was heard today at the premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in Istočno Sarajevo.

Bajrović was accompanied by his lawyer Alen Nakić during the hearing, and the case dates back to 2022, reports Vijesti.ba.

The complaint was filed against them at the time by the president of the Croatian Republican Party (HRS) Slaven Raguž "for publicly inciting inter-ethnic intolerance and hatred towards Croats".

After the hearing, Bajrović told reporters that the case was absurd.

- Welcome to North Korea. All citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina should know what I am accused of. Don't laugh, but among other things, they accuse me because I tweeted 'Azra Zornić is my personal hero'.

North Korea, Russia, Belarus - take your pick. Absolutely shameful and it all resembles the eighties. Verbal offense is being reintroduced. A classic abuse of the state apparatus for the persecution of dissidents - Bajrović stated.

In a statement to the media, lawyer Alen Nakić said that "everyone who knows Bajrović knows that he absolutely cannot be attributed accusations that would involve inciting racial, religious, and national intolerance.

- He is only critical of social phenomena and will continue to criticize everything that is not right. We have no doubt that an indictment will be filed against Bajrović here, but for completely different reasons. These are not the legal characteristics of a criminal offense under Article 145. Let the public judge for themselves - Nakić added.

Let us remind you that the director of the Potočari Memorial Center Emir Suljagić was also heard earlier today at SIPA regarding the same complaint, while the leader of the SDA Bakir Izetbegović is expected to appear for a hearing tomorrow.
