Bajramović knew the Labour Law would be adopted, misled workers into believing they could stop it

Members of the Breza Mine Workers' Union have defied the president of the Independent Union of BiH Ismet Bajramović, after Bajramović asked the workers to leave the protests in front of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH building held today, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Thousands of workers from all over BiH protested in front of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH building due to the new Labour Law, which the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament adopted at today's extraordinary session.

Although the workers came to stop the adoption of the Law, it did not happen, and at one point Bajramović asked the workers to go home and return tomorrow in front of the FBiH Parliament building to continue the protests. This caused discontent among a large number of workers who came to the protests.

Some members of the Breza Mine Workers' Union believe that Bajramović knew all along that the controversial Law would be adopted, and that he had been misleading the workers all along into believing they could stop it.

- The agreement was that if the delegates of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament adopted the Labour Law, the workers would peacefully enter the Parliament building and try to challenge the Law – said one of the members of the Breza Mine Workers' Union. He reminded that Bajramović had announced this scenario all along, but it did not happen in the end.

When the Law was adopted, Bajramović asked the workers to go home and return on Friday afternoon, which disappointed many of them.

- He betrayed us – claim the workers, adding that Bajramović is aware that there will be no protests tomorrow, because many workers came to Sarajevo from Tuzla, Kalesija, Herzegovina, and are returning to their homes tonight, and none of them will come to Sarajevo again.

Ismet Bajramović has been the head of the Independent Union of BiH for two terms. Many accuse him of holding this position only for the salary exceeding 3,500 KM, and not for the workers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose rights in the country are increasingly endangered every year, writes NAP.
