Bajević on talking with Vranješ: It all depends on him

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Dušan Bajević, the new coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, was officially presented to the public today after taking over the position.

"It is true that in that period when the president suggested that I be the one to continue and take Robi's place, I didn't think much about it at the time, but the days became shorter and shorter and a decision had to be made. The time I spent in the Football Association obligated me. The peak is when you are at the head of the national team. It is a great pleasure to try to bring the national team to the European Championship," Bajević explained at the beginning of his address.

He said that he had already spoken with Ognjen Vranješ and that he would do so again.

"Vranješ has been part of the national team for a long time. He has given a lot to the national team, it is certain that no one disputes his commitment and good play, but he certainly has to take care of his behavior off the field. I think it depends most on him again. I did talk to him, I will talk to him again, to be sure. But it depends most on him," he said.

Bajević said that an environment would be created for them to qualify for the EC.

He also spoke about players who are not standard in their clubs.

"We cannot help players who do not play in their clubs. Experience is most important to us in these matches. We should not look at beauty, but we should look at how we will achieve our goal," said Bajević.  

The coaching staff of the BiH team will include Rusmir Cviko, Slaven Musa, Adnan Čustović, Rusmir Cviko, and Eldin Jelešković. Emir Spahić, the former captain of the Dragons, will also be on the team, and will have the role of advisor.
