Bajević beaten down, Hadžibegić insists "we can't be so stupid as to say the weather bothered us"

The defeat against Nigeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina's elimination from the World Cup has crushed many fans, as well as BH experts around the world, who, it is now evident, expected BH to advance to the round of 16 of the World Cup, writes the Patria news agency.

How great the disappointment is can be seen from the statement of Dušan Bajević, who, in a conversation with a NAP reporter, literally asked that nothing be written until the match against Iran is over.

- We will analyze later, when everything is finished, now I ask you not to write anything – said Bajević, and NAP will respect the wish of the celebrated BH expert.

On the other hand, also disappointed Faruk Hadžibegić says that his sorrow is great, but that when he "cools his head" he will analyze the duel between BH and Nigeria in detail.

- I wanted the victory so much that I am more sad than disappointed. It happens to us that when we achieve some result, that is the pinnacle for us and we cannot do anything better. That's how we often lose our sense of what we can and cannot do. Personally, I think we have a team and a group in which we could have advanced to the round of 16. The good game against Argentina gave us even more euphoria, so this defeat against Nigeria is shocking for everyone. So we completely forgot that this could also happen – says Hadžibegić.

When asked by a reporter whether it is justified to say that the weather conditions were difficult, Hadžibegić laughed.

- Weather conditions, that's ridiculous. We can't be so stupid as to say the weather bothered us. All teams have the same conditions. Now after the surprising elimination, emotions are still alive and everything is heated. I read statements from the selector congratulating Nigeria because they were better than us. I would like to cool my head and analyze what the real reason is and how it came to this. I think there are several, it's not just one culprit – added Hadžibegić.

He further notes that a deep analysis is needed and that while the wound is still fresh, one should not talk too much.

- For the future of BH football, an analysis is necessary, and it should be deep and good, to see what we can change and then move forward, because we didn't go to the World Cup by chance. We have quality, and now let's see why we were eliminated. We can only find the reasons for elimination with a cool head. We still have one match left and we need to win it so that a deeper stain does not remain – added Hadžibegić for NAP.
