Arrogance of the FBiH Government is Dangerous for Society

Prime Minister Fadil Novalić informed the public this morning that the Government of the Federation of BiH has submitted the Proposal for the General Collective Agreement for FBiH for a constitutionality review, on which the Constitutional Court of FBiH should make a final decision.

The Social Democratic Party of BiH considers this move regrettable for several reasons, the most important being that it concerns a proposal for the General Collective Agreement for FBiH, meaning it has not even entered into force, and the FBiH Government, led by SDA-HDZ-SBB, deserves the most credit for this, it was announced from SDP BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Even the greatest laymen understand that the Constitutional Court of FBiH cannot and will not review an act that has not entered into force at all and therefore cannot be in accordance or discord with the Constitution of FBiH, but Prime Minister Novalić and other "experts" who supported this probably do not understand that.

The second devastating fact is that Prime Minister Novalić condemns the agreement reached by the Independent Trade Unions and the Employers' Association of FBiH and tries to prevent it in every way. It is catastrophic that the Federation of BiH is led by a man and a Government that are bothered by a minimum wage increase of "as much as 12.6 percent" and who say that any increase of more than three percent is socially dangerous! It sounds simply unbelievable that we can see such a level of arrogance in the public appearances of the Prime Minister and other members of the FBiH Government, whose goal is clearly for workers in BiH to be slaves and work for the lowest possible wages, so that post-war tycoons have the highest possible profit.

We remind the public that in his statements in July last year, Prime Minister Novalić promised that the Government would strive to increase the minimum wage in FBiH to 450 to 500 KM, and now, when the social partners have agreed that it should be 406 KM, he and the FBiH Government call such an agreement socially dangerous and refuse to give their consent to it, even though, according to the Labor Law of FBiH, they are not a party to the procedure.

SDP BiH most sharply condemns the illegal behavior of the FBiH Government and calls on it to finally start working in the interest of citizens and workers, and to stop obstructing every agreement that would improve the standard of living of the citizens of FBiH. We believe that the SDA-HDZ-SBB Government is the one that is socially dangerous, not the workers they want to rule like caliphs.
