System Automation: In FBiH, citizens receive ID cards and passports in just eight days

Citizens who submit applications for ID cards and travel documents at any MUP in BiH, and are registered in the civil registries in the Federation of BiH, receive their personal documents significantly faster because the checks for data verified in the civil registry records of the Federation of BiH are automated, announced the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange (IDDEEA).

Results of analyses for February 2015 show that the automatic checking process of entries in the civil registries (MKD) and birth registries (MKR) significantly speeds up the issuance of personal documents.

The analysis showed that the average time period from submitting an application for a personal document to its production in cases where automatic checks are performed lasts an average of eight days, while in cases where such an exchange does not exist, the process of producing a personal document takes an average of 18 days.

In the process of assessing the fulfillment of conditions related to the visa-free regime, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federation of BiH, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of Republika Srpska, and the Government of Brčko District have been tasked, within their jurisdictions, to establish digitally signed electronic records of civil registries in order to ensure a more secure and efficient process of issuing personal documents to citizens of BiH.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federation of BiH has announced that digitally signed electronic records of civil registries have been established in the territory of the Federation of BiH, reports Patria.
