Car mafia increasingly brutal, fired at the apartment of a car owner they intended to rob

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A real drama unfolded in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Dobrinja on the eve of Kurban Bayram. Car mafia members came to Kasima Prohića Street in the dead of night with the intention of stealing a parked car. The owner noticed them and thwarted the theft from his apartment window.

However, the masked thieves first fled, then returned and opened fire with an automatic rifle at the building.

Residents of this street say they were woken by a burst of gunfire, and that a tragedy was avoided only by sheer luck, with no one injured.

The Sarajevo police were notified of the incident, and for several nights now a vehicle from the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton has been patrolling the street. Bullet holes are visible on the building's facade.

Incidentally, right next to the building is a parking lot from which vehicles have been frequently stolen, and due to the proximity of the territory of Republika Srpska, i.e., Lukavica, the thieves manage to escape.
