Car plunges into Miljacka: Three people killed near Sarajevo

(Patria) - A car plunged into the Miljacka River near the Bulozi tunnel above Dariva, at the eastern entrance to Sarajevo. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, i.e., the Police Administration of East Sarajevo.

Police Administration of East Sarajevo spokesperson Vesna Stokanović told the Patria agency that the vehicle that plunged into the river has not yet been recovered.

"Divers are expected; the terrain is inaccessible. Police officers, firefighters, members of the Mountain Rescue Service, and emergency medical services are on the scene," Stokanović said.

She said that at this moment she cannot say how many people are being searched for. Unofficially, there were three people in the vehicle, who died when the car plunged into the river.

"Neither the car nor the owner of the car has been identified yet. No bodies have been recovered yet, but they are visible in the water," Stokanović said.
