Austria celebrated, Poland eliminated

(Patria) - The Austrian national team celebrated a 3-1 victory over Poland today at the "Olympiastadion" in Berlin, in the second round of Group D of the European Championship being held in Germany.

Austria took an early lead with a goal in the 9th minute, scored by Gernot Trauner. Poland equalized after half an hour through a goal by Krzysztof Piatek.

There were no goals in the second half until the 66th minute, when Christoph Baumgartner scored to give Austria the lead again. Marko Arnautović sealed the victory for Austria with a third goal from a penalty in the 78th minute.

After today's triumph, Austria remains in the race for a spot in the round of 16 with 3 points won, while Poland said goodbye to the Euros without any points, considering that they also lost their first match in the group.

In the other match of Group D tonight at 9 PM in Leipzig, the derby will be played between the Netherlands and France.
