Athlete Amel Tuka becomes uncle after winning medals: I became a daidža to a wonderful boy

The world's best 800-metre athlete Amel Tuka, after achieving two victories and setting two new world records in just a few days, has also taken on another role, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Tuka became a daidža on 23 July, as his sister Amela gave birth to a boy. After his victory at the Athletics Meeting in the Swiss city of Bellinzona on 21 July, Tuka said he was thinking about his sister, who was close to giving birth, and that they are very close. However, the little boy waited for his daidža to win another medal.

- I became a daidžaaaa to a wonderful little boy. Thank God - Tuka wrote on his Facebook profile.

Tuka finished the race with a time of 1:45.80, and a few days earlier, on 17 July, he also won the Diamond League in Monaco with a time of 1:42.51 in the 800 metres. Tuka amazed all athletics fans, achieving the 10th best time of all time in the world of athletics, breaking his personal record as well as the national record, which, besides him, no one in Bosnia and Herzegovina has set for several years.

Tuka has returned to Italy, where he has lived for the past few years, and will prepare for the World Championship in a mountain village. The World Championship will be held in Beijing from 22 to 30 August.
