Arsen Dedić admitted to hospital, developed sepsis after hip surgery

The celebrated Croatian singer-songwriter Arsen Dedić was admitted to the intensive care unit of the internal medicine clinic at KBC Zagreb yesterday due to sepsis, and it is presumed to be a complication following hip surgery that Dedić had two weeks ago, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Given that the patient had a previous liver transplant and was receiving immunosuppressants, he was at a higher risk of infection.

At Rebro, they say that Dedić shows clear signs of a severe infection and was almost unconscious when transferred to the intensive care unit of the internal medicine clinic. A CT scan revealed the focus of infection on his swollen leg, which is the source of the sepsis.

His wife, Gabi Novak, stated that this is a private matter she does not wish to comment on, adding that everything will be fine.

Dedić has had health problems for about ten years. He received a liver transplant in Padua in 2004, and a year and a half ago, he began experiencing hip problems after a fall.
