Arafat is submission to God: Central program for BiH pilgrims held

(Patria) - Organized by the Office for Hajj and Umrah of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a central program was held today on Arafat for pilgrims from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are staying at this location today along with millions of pilgrims from all over the world.



On this occasion, addressing the Bosnian pilgrims, reisul-hudžadž mr. Nusret-ef. Abdibegović pointed out the messages of staying on Arafat.

„You are on the plateau of Arafat. The Day of Arafat is a temporal period, and Arafat is a spatial designation. In that context, seek yourselves in time and space, because a person who gets lost in time and space has strayed. You who are on Arafat today, it seems to me, are on the right path,“ said Abdibegović.

He emphasized that Arafat is a confirmation of tawhid, and that all pilgrims, by coming for Hajj, have become aware of this.

„One comes to Arafat only for God, that is the purity of faith. Arafat is our submission to God. People come to Arafat from all corners of the world, Arafat preserves faith. The most important thing is that we are here today, and we are all here to bear witness to God, to submit to God, to carry faith from our homeland, to unite it with the faiths of others from all corners of the world,“ said, among other things, efendija Abdibegović.

The head of the Office for Hajj and Umrah, Dževad-ef. Hadžić, in his message to the pilgrims, said that this is a holy place and a holy day, and invited them to use their time on Arafat in worship and supplication.

„We are among Allah’s chosen servants who have come to this place on the most chosen day, to be able to offer supplication to Allah. Use this day, supplicate to Allah for what you need. I remember my Hajj, perhaps it was in 1995, I didn’t make a supplication, but I did think, I did sigh. Hafiz Ismet-ef. Spahić, reisul-hudžadž, was giving a speech then, and I thought, Dear Allah, will I ever speak on Arafat, and here, after almost 30 years, Allah has honored me to speak in this place, to address Allah’s guests. Use this day, be persistent in your supplications, Allah will answer them,“ he said.

The main guide, Izet-ef. Čamdžić, said that for millions of Muslims, Arafat will be a rebirth, but also a firm decision to be better in all the days to come.

„Each of us should ensure that the Day of Arafat next year is a joy for the ummah. We are on Arafat, we have come to settle accounts with ourselves. Whoever has come to Arafat to find Hajj, will find everything,“ emphasized Čamdžić.

The program was moderated by Mensur-ef. Pašalić, who is in charge of organizing the religious program for our pilgrims. He emphasized that great efforts were made and that extensive and thorough preparations preceded it, so that everything would be organized at the highest possible level.

The Arafat supplication, and the Supplication for the Homeland, will be recited tonight at 6:00 PM. Staying on Arafat is an obligation for every pilgrim, an integral part of the Hajj rituals, and all pilgrims gather at this place on the day before Eid al-Adha.
