ANN BiH Organizes Scientific Conference on ZAVNOBiH: Valorization of a Phase of BiH Statehood

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A press conference was held in Sarajevo today regarding the International Scientific Conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of ZAVNOBiH, organized by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This is a serious consultation with a prepared Proceedings, which will enable the valorization of one of the several phases of BiH statehood. ANN BiH has also prepared a Bibliography of works on ZAVNOBiH, and that is a fundamental contribution. We have opted for an in-depth approach. I hope that the Academy will fulfill its mission with this and future activities," stated Miloš Trifković, President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Our work was focused on inviting and encouraging scientists and researchers from BiH universities and institutes, as well as from abroad, to submit their scientific research papers on the topic we have shaped as 'Historical Foundations of Renewed Statehood of BiH in the 20th and 21st Centuries'," stated Professor Mirko Pejanović, President of the Scientific Committee of the International Scientific Conference "75th Anniversary of the First Session of ZAVNOBiH".

More than 30 scientists and creators have registered to participate, and after reviews, 25 papers have been included in the final selection and form the Proceedings, according to the decisions of the Organizational, Scientific, and Editorial Boards.

"The first group of papers deals with the historical prerequisites and roots for the creation of the ZAVNOBiH idea, i.e., the renewal of BiH statehood. It can be said that these are papers that shed light on individual aspects of BiH's historical society. The second group of authors focused on the constitutional-political development of BiH statehood from the established characteristics of all ZAVNOBiH sessions to the era of BiH's political plurality. The third group of authors is from the fields of sociology, political science, law, and other social sciences, dealing with the challenges, values, and consequences of ZAVNOBiH. This group also deals with comparative analysis of laws in Dayton BiH and those from the ZAVNOBiH era," added Pejanović.

The sponsor of the conference is BH Telecom, and it was financially supported by: the Presidency of BiH, the Government of KS, the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of KS, the municipalities of Stari Grad, Centar, Travnik, Lukavac, Visoko, Kakanj, and the cities of Sarajevo, Zenica, and Mostar.
