(Patria) - Today marks 17 months since the terrorist act committed against the National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Mostar. There are still no developments in the investigation, announced UABNOR Mostar.
"Just like in the past 30 years, when asked about the progress of the investigation, the answer is: The investigation is ongoing. And nothing more.
We have been convinced countless times that there is nothing to these kinds of investigations and that with the way such investigations are managed, the perpetrators will never be brought to justice. Such obstruction of the investigation and avoidance of prosecuting the perpetrators has only one name - complicity. It is clear that the destruction of the Partisan Memorial Cemetery and the failure to conduct an effective investigation has been a political issue from the very beginning. Therefore, we demand that the newly elected Government of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the new Minister of Internal Affairs address this issue. It is time to stop creating an atmosphere from which actions of destruction and denial of the anti-fascist heritage of the people of BiH arise.
Today, after seventeen months of complicity in the crime, and on the eve of Statehood Day, which we mark by remembering the First Session of ZAVNOBiH, it is the right time to start doing something concrete.
We have had enough of a society of divisions and constant creation of hatred and fear, thus a neo-fascist society in which only the creators of evil, into which they have plunged Bosnia and Herzegovina, benefit. The result of living in such a society is the destruction of heritage that even much larger countries than ours would be proud of. It is time for all of us to say in unison: Enough is enough", state the anti-fascists.
