Anonymous Report: Large Quantities of Weapons Found in Mrkonjić Grad

Police officers of the Public Security Station Mrkonjić Grad acted on an anonymous report of organized crime involving arms trafficking, with the suspect being from Mrkonjić Grad.

- By taking operational measures and actions based on the received report and thanks to well-planned activities, a larger quantity of weapons was found in the family home used by D.Š. (born 1991) in Gornji Šehovci, municipality of Mrkonjić Grad. Based on the order of the Basic Court Mrkonjić Grad, a search of the house, vehicles, and other premises used by the suspect was carried out, during which automatic rifles, a machine gun, pistols, and several rounds of ammunition of various calibers were found - the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

  
The found weapons were confiscated, deposited, and will serve as evidence in the criminal proceedings, and the suspect was deprived of liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Weapons or Explosive Materials." Furthermore, several individuals were questioned, and sufficient evidence was gathered indicating that D.Š. committed the aforementioned criminal offense.

- The District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka was informed of all circumstances, to whom a report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted against the suspect in the regular procedure - the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
