Analysis: Why does Čović want to cut off gas to Bosniaks?

By Almir Bečarević

Listening to the statements of the President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, about the construction of the Southern Interconnection and the arguments that lead him to realize this project through the "newly formed" company Južna plinska interkonekcija, one can only hold their head in disbelief at what has been said. Using the example of shutting off the valve in Posušje for political reasons and attributing it to the company BH-Gas is a collapse of all logic, politics, economics, reason, and anything else that might come to anyone's mind.

It is crystal clear that completely different interests are at play here, and they are reflected in the desire for complete control over life in this land called Palestine. This is also intended for us through this argumentation, because how else can one understand the example of Posušje without remembering Elek and the blackmail of shutting off the valve in Zvornik. To use the example of two Elektroprivredas or Post Offices and compare it to the gas system is the highest degree of ignorance and comparison of the incomparable.

Two gas inputs from two directions are precisely the solution that allows for balancing the system and ensures the security of gas supply for everyone in BiH. Reducing it to shutting off the valve for Posušje is, TRANSLATED INTO THE DICTIONARY OF THIS OUR PALESTINIAN TERRITORY, I NEED A VALVE TO SHUT OFF GAS TO SARAJEVO, JUST LIKE DODIK, WHEN I NEED IT FOR POLITICAL OR OTHER REASONS. I need it to blackmail like Elek did Sarajevo, because it works for them, so why not for Čović.

I need money so that Bosniaks pay me a tariff to develop "my own" things, because what is there is someone else's, but I like it when they pay me. The same logic, increase the tariff from Zvornik, Bosniaks will pay.

Comparing Elektroprivredas and gas is nonsense, because Čović has forgotten only one thing, ELEKTROPRIJENOS BIH. This is a state company at the service of all citizens, because it is a public service of electricity transmission, and a gas transport pipeline is also a public service for gas transport, not for blackmail like Elek's. Reducing the valve for any city in BiH to the level of terrorism/shutting off the valve due to money or politics is proof of how some politics think. IS THIS PROOF THAT THE SOUTHERN INTERCONNECTION IS FOR THAT REASON A CROATIAN NATIONAL INTEREST.

There is only one interest here, and that is the money to be made from digging 160 km of gas pipeline and ownership of the valve as a means of blackmail, not of Posušje, but of Sarajevo.
In the end, the Law on the Southern Interconnection should be sent back to the parliamentary procedure, and everyone should vote for the version with BH-Gas as the operator, and Čović can then think about who he will form any government with in the FBiH.
What was heard today is the collapse of all politics in BiH.

After all, talking about some 7-8 years of gas pipeline construction is surprising, because if Mr. Čović wanted to, he could check in Croatia how quickly gas pipelines are built, so these given years can only be a subject of ridicule in Croatia. We would build it quickly, Dragan, quickly with Plinacro.
