Some prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina in February this year increased compared to January. Analysts assess that the price increase in some segments is justified, but in some, like education, it should not have happened.
Although it is a slight price increase, and for education it is around 1.1 percent, it can create a negative effect for citizens, because education in the country is already at a low level. For example, analysts further warn, in the last five years, the number of students who complete their studies has been cemented at slightly more than 18,000 graduates annually, and it has not managed to exceed that figure.
If the state wants progress, strategists believe, it must provide young people with far more favorable conditions for schooling than is currently the case in BiH.
According to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics, in this entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there was a price increase for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.9%, and a slight price increase for furniture, household appliances, and healthcare by 0.1%.
A price decrease was recorded for clothing and footwear by 0.9%, transport by 0.3%, restaurants and hotels by 0.2%, NAP reports.
