Amputee Suljo Golo Opens Car and Carpet Wash with Donation Support

As part of a project implemented by the German humanitarian organization Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) and the Ilidža Municipality “Socio-economic empowerment of mine victims and their families through business training and creating employment opportunities”, a donation was presented to amputee Suljo Golo, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.  

Representatives of ASB and the Ilidža Municipality presented Golo with two machines for washing car interiors and carpets. 

- The delivery of these machines means solving the issue of livelihood, not only for me but also for my son who is unemployed. We plan to open a car wash and thus earn a living, to feel socially useful and not depend on anyone. Thank you to the Municipality and ASB - said Suljo Golo.

The project  is in its final phase, and is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, the organization (ASB) and the Ilidža Municipality. This project involved 14 mine victims from the Ilidža municipality area. So far, the distribution of livestock, four tillers and a mower has been carried out.

This local community participated in the mentioned project with 15 percent of the financial resources, i.e., 6,200 KM per beneficiary. In this way, mine victims and their families will be enabled to live from their own work.
