Amidžić: The budget proposed by Bećirović and Komšić is unacceptable to me, Cvijanović has no veto right

(Patria) - The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić, claims that the members of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, proposed the budget for the institutions of BiH for this year, which will be on the agenda of the Presidency of BiH on Tuesday, August 19.

"The budget they wrote is contrary to professional standards and the positions of the BiH Fiscal Council. This is unacceptable. Not only have individuals shown that the BiH judicial system does not exist, but now they are showing that the fiscal system does not exist either," Amidžić said today at a press conference in Banja Luka.

He says he felt the need to inform the public that Bećirović and Komšić "took it upon themselves to write the budget, ignoring what was said in the BiH Fiscal Council and by 200 employees of the BiH Ministry of Finance regarding the drafting of a concrete and objective budget".

In addition, he claims, they wrote the budget as if they were "casting lots – a million here, a million there".

"Their proposal does not include 25 million KM for salary increases for those with secondary vocational education in BiH institutions, although legal amendments on increasing their income have been adopted. However, they allocated more to some than they requested. For example, they gave IDDEEA about four million KM more than they requested," Amidžić added.

Amidžić said that for SNSD, the party he belongs to, it is unacceptable to allocate 60 million KM from the budget for the procurement of weapons, "covering up the poor performance of the incompetent management of BHRT" and BiH cultural institutions.

"They proposed eight million KM for Zukan Helez to buy weapons, 22 million KM for the incompetent management of BHRT, and 12 million KM for BiH cultural institutions. As a Serb, this is unacceptable to me," Amidžić added.

He posed a public question to the opposition representatives whether they would support such a budget from the BiH Presidency.

Amidžić added that the third member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, will likely be outvoted at the session and that she has no right of veto when it comes to the budget. After that, it will be sent to the parliamentary procedure.

When asked about the request of the BiH Prosecutor's Office to halt the procedure for purchasing the building of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH (UIO) in Banja Luka for 99.5 million KM until the legality of this procedure is determined, Amidžić said that he did not notice the Prosecutor's Office reacting during the purchase of UIO buildings in Tuzla and Sarajevo.
