Darija Srna's Cousin Bravely Saved Fellow Citizens in Bosanski Šamac

Bosanski Šamac is still recovering from catastrophic floods, and the town no longer resembles what it once was, reports the Patria news agency. That Šamac is beginning to resemble a ghost town was also witnessed by Nihad Selimović, who yesterday, together with representatives of the Association of Sports Journalists, delivered aid from the Euroleague Basketball, reports the Patria news agency.

As they told NAP, Šamac is now an ideal place for filming horror and terror.
There is no lighting, no internet, total hopelessness.

- Not even the precious aid donated by the Euroleague Basketball, through KK Spars and Nihad Selimović, who tirelessly visits flooded areas day and night, managed to bring a smile or dentures to the faces of the few residents left in the town - wrote Sinan Sinanović from ASN and editor of Sport on his Facebook profile.

However, what amazed them was that they met Sejad Srna there, who was the bravest during the multi-day floods. When most residents on rooftops and chimneys watched the water rise to their necks, Sejo broke through to a boat, then rowed for hours to free territory and called for help, brought food, medicine, and through world media appealed to save the sinking town being swallowed by the water element.

Srna, the bravest man from Šamac, is otherwise the closest relative of the captain of the Croatian national football team.

- Darijo Srna and I are cousins. Our fathers, my Izet and Darijo's Uzeir, are brothers.
The Srnas are from Eastern Bosnia. They are everywhere, in Dalmatia, in Sarajevo, and here too. I talk to Darijo's father Uzeir regularly, but not with Darijo. He has his own obligations. I know that everyone in Croatia loves him because, besides being a true footballer, he is also a good man. He helps whoever needs it - said Srna.
