With the opening of polling stations in Vermont, a state in the eastern US, the campaign for presidential nominations has begun. This campaign in 12 American states is called "Super Tuesday", writes Patria.
This involves one fifth of party voters, who will choose their presidential candidate.
According to exit polls, two candidates are standing out. Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Trump will only lose in Texas, while Clinton is convincingly leading in 10 out of 11 states. The US presidential election will be held on November 8 this year.
