American helicopters arrived in BiH, new strength for BiH Armed Forces

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Armed Forces of BiH are richer by four new American helicopters 'Bell Huey II' as of today.

The helicopters were delivered directly to Sarajevo Airport this morning by plane from Alabama. These are multi-purpose helicopters that will be in the possession of the Air Force and Air Defence Brigade of the BiH Armed Forces.

With them, the Brigade will be able to continue and even better perform tasks of air transport, medical evacuation, firefighting, search and rescue, as well as other tasks in fulfilling the main missions of the Armed Forces.

Members of the Air Force and Air Defence Brigade of the BiH Armed Forces have previously successfully completed adaptation training on helicopters in the United States of America, in Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to the delivery of four Bell Huey II helicopters and the retraining of pilots and technicians in the training centers of Bell Helicopter Textron Inc., the delivery of spare parts and consumables for two years and 300 flight hours annually has been secured, as well as the delivery of tools and test equipment for helicopter maintenance, and maintenance, i.e., the delivery of ground equipment for servicing the helicopters and the delivery of technical documentation for aviation-technical maintenance have been secured.

According to Bell company data, more than 300 Huey II helicopters are in the possession of 14 countries with more than 1.2 million flight hours in military and other missions.
