Democrats Choose Presidential Candidate: Sanders' Narrow Victory in New Hampshire

(Patria) – Bernie Sanders won the race for the Democratic presidential candidate in the state of New Hampshire.

Sanders narrowly defeated Pete Buttigieg (38), the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

Behind the progressive senator from neighboring Vermont is another success, despite rivals' criticism of his far-left orientation, which they claim would lead to the Democrats' failure in the presidential elections on November 3rd.

Quite (un)expectedly, Joe Biden finished in 5th place. Addressing his supporters in South Carolina, he said that 'it's not over, it's just beginning.' Biden also ranked poorly in the last two presidential election rounds after his moment of glory in 2008, which led him to the position of US Vice President from 2009 to 2017.

Once a favorite in Democratic circles, Biden also finished fourth in Iowa. He is pinning his hopes on the elections in the southern states in late February and early March, counting on the support of the African American population.

Candidate Elizabeth Warren, who was considered a favorite in the same state just three months ago, also experienced a setback in New Hampshire. This time, she finished in fourth place, calling into question her participation in the rest of the race.

New Hampshire seems to favor Sanders, who also won the Democratic candidate election in that state three years ago ahead of Hillary Clinton with 60% of the vote. However, this new victory is only a shadow of the previous one, as he won two-thirds of his earlier support, Reuters reports.
