(Patria) - The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that it welcomes the OHR's decision to annul the recently adopted Conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, although the OHR has not yet officially received any decision.
“The United States welcomes the High Representative. Today's decision to defend the Dayton Peace Agreement and protect the judicial institutions and rule of law institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the state level by prohibiting the implementation of the conclusions adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska at its 16th special session on 24 and 25 December. The United States of America supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its continued progress on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration,” the US Embassy stated.
The Office of the High Representative's website has not yet published a decision annulling the conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
We recall that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, through its conclusions, called on the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, not to attend the trial before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case against him for disrespecting the High Representative's decisions, until he recovers.
In addition, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted conclusions demanding that representatives from Republika Srpska in state institutions block the decision-making process at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as halt European integration.
The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted a total of 13 conclusions, which were ultimately milder in the final text than the original draft.
