US Embassy: Dodik is wrong if he thinks the US will stand by while he pushes BiH into conflict

(Patria) - The US Embassy in BiH has reacted to the latest statements by RS President Milorad Dodik, who announced in an interview with RTRS that the smaller BiH entity will secede if the High Representative Christian Schmidt imposes a solution on state property.

- Republika Srpska is an entity within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is an integral part of the state, but neither Republika Srpska nor the Federation of BiH exist outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Neither for the entity nor for any other unit below the state level does the BiH Constitution provide for the right to secession.

On several occasions, the US has made it clear that it will react and oppose anti-Dayton actions, which secession certainly is.
