Kakanj is preparing a grand welcome for the world's fastest 800-meter runner Amel Tuka on Wednesday, when thousands of people will gather on the main city street at 9:30 PM, reports the BH news agency Patria.
In addition to the people of Kakanj, hundreds of people from other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina will come to the main city street in the athlete's hometown.
Tuka is currently the world's fastest 800-meter runner. In just four days, he won two gold medals at competitions in Monaco and Switzerland. At the prestigious Diamond League, which he ran on July 17 with a time of 1:42.51 in the 800 meters, he captivated all athletics fans, achieved the 10th best time of all time in athletics, and broke his personal best and the record of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From August 22 to 30, the World Athletics Championships await him, which will be held in Beijing.
A spectacular welcome for Tuka in the center of Kakanj is being organized by the Municipality of Kakanj, writes NAP.
