Amel Tuka won fifth place in the 800m race at the Diamond League meeting in Rome. Tuka, in his first Diamond League appearance this season, ran the race in his favorite discipline in 1:45.68.
Kinyamal took first place with a time of 1:44.65, and before Tuka, Rotich (1:44.74), Kitilit (1:44.78), and McBride (1:44.99) also finished the race.
Before tonight's appearance, Tuka stated that he hoped for a time of around 1:45.00.
Tuka's next appearance will be at the Athletics meeting in Zenica.
