Amel Tuka, the best BiH athlete, broke the 30-year-old Balkan record in the 800m indoor race in Belgium.
He took second place in Ghent with a time of 1:46.33, breaking the record of Predrag Melnjak who achieved a time of 1:46.40 back in 1988.
This was Amel's first 800m race of the season, but serious challenges in the upcoming season are now ahead of him.
Moroccan Mostafa Smaili celebrated ahead of him today with a result of 1:45.96, while Amraham Rotich was third with a time of 1:48.30.
