Amel Tuka received the Kulin Ban gold coin

The Zenica Citizens' Forum marked its 23rd anniversary with a gathering at the Zenica Museum. Every year, the Forum awards the "Kulin Ban" gold coin, and this year it went to the best BiH athlete Amel Tuka, reports the reporter of the BiH news agency Patria.

The president of the association, Tvrtko Mišanović, said that today marks 23 years of active work by the Zenica Citizens' Forum.

- We can talk for a long time about our activities and projects in the fields of culture, sports, and tradition. Many people do not know how many useful things the Citizens' Forum has done for this city - said Mišanović.

The Zenica Citizens' Forum awards the Kulin Ban gold coin to individuals and institutions who promote their city and their country. For 2015, the "Kulin Ban Gold Coin" was awarded to one of the best European athletes, Amel Tuka, an athlete who achieved the best result in the world this year.

- It is a great honor for me to be here with you tonight and for the Citizens' Forum to decide to give me this award. I have received many awards and medals, but this is a special recognition for me. All those awards are valuable, but when you receive recognition from your own people, it has a special meaning for me. It is an honor and a pleasure for me that my role model Hamza Alić received this award before me, and now with this award, I feel like a true Zenican - stated Amel Tuka after receiving the valuable award, even though he was born in Kakanj.
