Amel Sejfović in Zenica, seven people in custody, search for motorcyclist ongoing

Detainee Amel Sejfović, who is charged with the new criminal offense of escape of a person deprived of liberty, was transferred to KPZ Zenica today, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Sejfović, along with his accomplices, is being tried at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for multiple criminal offenses, in connection with the bank robbery in Ilidža on November 5, 2015.

On September 3, Sejfović escaped from KPZ Miljacka by threatening with a firearm. After eight days, he was located and apprehended in the area of Visoko in an operation by several police agencies and returned to KPZ Miljacka.

The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office requested the transfer of Sejfović to KPZ Zenica.

Incidentally, about ten people were arrested for involvement in the escape and aiding the escapee, and seven of them were ordered into custody. The first to be arrested were employees of KPZ Sarajevo who brought weapons into the prison for Sejfović and enabled his escape during recreation time. The other arrested individuals helped Sejfović after his escape, providing him with transportation and food.

The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office continues its investigation in this case, and the accomplice who drove Sejfović away on a motorcycle after his escape from KPZ Sarajevo is still at large.
