Ambassador of BiH in Ankara Džanko approved $10,000 for children's education!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved $10,000 USD for the ambassador of BiH to Turkey, Damir Džanko, for the education costs of two minor children, the Patria News Agency (NAP) has learned.

The Ministry made the decision on April 11 this year, which came into the possession of Patria agency journalists, approving $5,000 for each of Džanko's two children for the 2013/14 school year, who are with him in Ankara.

The payment to Džanko is not illegal, but the question of its morality arises. Namely, based on Article 8 of the Rulebook on Salaries, Allowances, and Compensations for Persons in Diplomatic-Consular Missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is stipulated that an employee of diplomatic-consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina is entitled to compensation in the amount of 50 percent of the actual education costs, but not more than $5,000 for one child per school year, writes NAP.

Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, is most responsible for Džanko's appointment as ambassador to Turkey. The money for the children's education will be paid to Džanko at a time when thousands of BiH citizens are homeless and when many schools in BiH have been destroyed due to severe floods, writes NAP.
