Ambassador Cormack visited Čović and Izetbegović

Member of the BiH Presidency from the Croat people, Dragan Čović, congratulated the Ambassador of the United States of America, Maureen Cormack, on taking office, at this significant moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Cormack congratulated Čović on taking office as a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Croat people.

They discussed the political situation and relations within Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Čović informed the ambassador about current developments regarding the establishment of government at all levels in BiH, the European integration process, the necessity of amending the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as activities on harmonizing the Statement of the BiH Presidency, in accordance with the conclusions of the Council of the European Union for Foreign Affairs.

The participants of the meeting particularly emphasized the necessity of initiating socio-economic and institutional reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conditions for economic strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the building and strengthening of a legally regulated state, which will ensure new investments.

Čović wished the new ambassador good luck in her future work and expressed confidence in the continuation of good cooperation with the US administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cormack later held a meeting with Bakir Izetbegović, the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency.
