The Ambassador of Great Britain to Bosnia and Herzegovina Edward Ferguson visited the Ministry of Security of BiH today and discussed the current security situation and cooperation on projects that will strengthen the capacities of police and judicial agencies with Minister Dragan Mektić.
Mektić welcomed the continuation of this project by the British Embassy, given that the establishment of this data exchange system will significantly help in the prevention and fight against organized crime and terrorism.
The focus of the talks was also on the work of the Strike Group for Combating Terrorism, and Minister Mektić informed Ambassador Ferguson about plans that will make the fight against terrorism even more effective and enable a faster response in case of threats.
Mektić emphasized that the Ministry of Security is currently dedicated to strengthening cooperation with EU and regional countries, through the implementation of obligations from the Operational Cooperation Agreement with EUROPOL and the initiative for combating terrorism in Southeast European countries, which is led by the Ministry of Security of BiH.
