
(Patria) - Ambassador of the United Kingdom Julian Reilly and his deputy James Hamilton Harding visited the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH today.
They were hosted by members of the HJPC Presidency - President Sanin Bogunić, Vice-Presidents Sanela Gorušanović Butigan and Velimir Ninković, and permanent member Sedin Idrizović.
The central topics of the meetings were the Law on Amendments to the Law on HJPC of BiH, which was determined by the Council of Ministers of BiH in early March this year, support for further reforms of the BiH judicial system, and cooperation related to the implementation of recommendations from the MONEYVAL Report (Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Measures) for BiH.
The meeting participants also briefly touched upon the current situation arising from the adoption of the Law on HJPC of Republika Srpska and other laws in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Bogunić thanked the United Kingdom for its support to the HJPC of BiH and the BiH judiciary in the past period, emphasizing that it will continue through cooperation on the implementation of recommendations from the MONEYVAL Report.
He also highlighted the importance of adopting the best possible Law on HJPC of BiH. In the context of the current situation, Bogunić stated that all judicial institutions are functioning regularly and performing their tasks professionally and efficiently.
