Ambassador Nelson presents valuable donation to the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH

(Patria) - U.S. Ambassador to BiH, Eric Nelson, military attaché Brigadier Michael Tarquinto and Head of the Defense Cooperation Office Major Taib Grozdanić today handed over to the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH a donation of armored vehicles, night vision devices, communication equipment and personal protective equipment worth over 1.5 million dollars, which will be used by the SIPA Special Support Unit (JSP).

This equipment will enable the SIPA Special Support Unit to fulfill its important mission of providing protection to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The United States is strongly committed to the rule of law and security in BiH.

The U.S. Embassy considers SIPA's mandate to fight corruption to be one of its most important tasks. This remains one of the most challenging issues for the security community, as well as one of the primary reasons why young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina consider leaving the country while planning their future. We remain deeply committed to the fight against corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
